About

SurfScuba.Com - the perfect combination, don’t you think?

Some people love surfing, staying on top, riding the waves, and getting washed over by the big one. Maybe paddling out, straddling your board, and watching the waves come in. For some it’s a little bit of everything. Even the smell of board wax makes them happy. Tired elbows from hand rubbing? No worries. It’s all good. Chafed ankles, scraped elbows, a knot on the head now and again from a wayward board, yours or someone elses. All worth it to the diehard surfer. Worth it to have the chance, the freedom to surf, to ride the waves, to feel the power of the ocean beneath your feet. Worth it to feel the rush as your heart jumps facing that monster break, even though you know you’re likely to end up on your head and dragging your board to the beach. To defy nature, at least a little bit. To do what others fear. Worth every bit of it.

Others love scuba and scuba diving. Otherwordly, sliding silently beneath the waves. Seeing the life that lies and thrives below. Seeing things most humans don’t even know exist, much less have experiences seeing firsthand. To hear the regulator’s rhythm. To feel your body bouy. To look up to see the sun through the water above you. To feel as though you are weightless, and to be a part, for at least a while, of another realm. Gliding along the coral reefs of Hawaii, or just off the Gulf Coast, or maybe doing a little 3 day tour in Australia. To hear in the silence, what the life force has to say and not hear what the world is saying. Scuba diving is all of that, and more.

And there are those who love both, in turns. For each of these groups, there is now, SurfScuba.com. Articles, information, updates on equipment, links to surfing sites, diving sites, and much more. Take a look around, and enjoy. Come back often to see what changes and new information I’ve added.
